MetaMemory 1977–∞
On July 17, 1977, Józef Żuk Piwkowski began a permanent photographic project involving taking a self-portrait every day. Over the years, the project evolved into a multimedia and online version, incorporating other people and artifacts.
MultiplePortrait
At the Museum of Photography, fragments of the MetaMemory project's history and the associated MultiplePortrait studio are presented. The 19th-century invention, which inspired many artists such as Wacław Szpakowski, Marcel Duchamp, and Stanisław Witkacy, will be used to take photos of interested viewers. For creating new MultiplesPortraits, I plan to construct a new system of mirrors and a new large-format camera. The MultiplePortrait studio is also available to other photographers.
