The device is made of a blackened box inside (to reduce light reflections). On one side there is a small hole (0.3–1 mm in diameter, depending on the size of the camera) acting as a lens, and on the other side there is a matte glass (matte) or tracing paper. The light rays shining through the hole create an inverted and reduced (or enlarged) image on the screen. By inserting a photographic plate in place of the screen, you can get a photo. During the screening, the camera obscura will be directed at a historic tenement house designed by Józef Święcicki.
We would like to thank POLVIT Leszek Piekut for making the space available.
