Laurent Benaïm is a French photographer born in 1965 in Paris. He currently lives and works in Leipzig. In his work, he focuses on all forms of sexuality.
He has been working in the bichromate rubber technique for 25 years. Using this technique, Benaïm strengthens, dramatizes and dramatizes the stage, aiming to lift the photographed bodies. This technique was widely used by pictorialists in the 19th century to the 1930s. This photo creation process used by Benaïm allows you to intervene directly in the image and give it a personal interpretation. Indeed, the artist uses both the painter's and the photographer's tools: brushes, pigments and negatives. Each act of creating photography is done using a number of tools, which is the stage of undeniable creation. It is in this gesture that the characteristic individual nature of bichromate rubber is expressed, far from mechanical movement and reproduction striving for infinity. The artist mixes a solution of gum arabic and non-oily pigment. Then combine with it a saturated solution of potassium dichromate. He arranges this mixture on a sheet of paper, after drying it in the shade. Later in the process, it soaks the paper through contact under negative. Finally, it immerses in water and modulates the final effect with a brush.
The exhibition is intended for adults only. Appear on the very bold acts and broadly understood sexuality.
