Ta pośmiertna wystawa prac Andrzeja Różyckiego ma być swoistym epitafium, hołdem dla zmarłego w 2021 artysty i fotozofa. Podejmie ona temat, który przenikał całą jego twórczość – obecności medialnej, zapośredniczonej przez medium fotograficzne. Zatem wystawa będzie miała charakter przeglądowy i obejmie prace z okresu czterech dekad pracy twórczej artysty. Tytułowe wywoływanie jest procesem ciemniowym, zamknięciem się w grobowej przestrzeni ciemni, w której ujawniają się uwiecznione w przeszłości obrazy. Ta wystawa ma wywołać postać zmarłego Andrzeja Różyckiego za pośrednictwem jego prac. Różycki często świadomie sięgał po metaforykę procesów fotograficznych, aby uprawiać własną refleksję filozoficzną, co określał pojęciem Fotozofii. Do tematyki wywoływania ducha poprzez fotografię sięgnął wprost „animując” prace swojej zmarłej przyjaciółki Zofii Rydet w cyklu FotoAndrzejoZofia. Temat dialogu z przeszłością i zmarłymi przodkami obecny jest w cyklach Fotografia nostalgiczna i Kamienie. Zagadnienie włączenia swojego wizerunku w porządek transcendentalny zawarł w cyklach Natury frasobliwe i Moje prywatne kalwarie, a pośrednio również w swoich neokonceptualnych pracach z okresu Warsztatu Formy Filmowej, takich jak Identyfikacja pozorna. Swoistym mottem wystawy będzie cykl W hołdzie ś.p. fotografii analogowej, w którym Różycki ujął wanitatywny i epitafijny potencjał fotografii. Andrzej Różycki - artist, filmmaker, collector, art theoretician and curator, photo-philosopher. Born in 1942 in Baranowicze, died on 12/12/2021 in Łódź, where he lived for several dozen years. One of the key figures in art in Poland in the last six decades. Member of the Zero-61 group, co-founder of the Film Form Workshop, author of several dozen ethnographic films, creator and promoter of the concept of photosophy. He focused his artistic work around the medium of photography, noticing in it an inexhaustible reflective, meta-artistic and aesthetic potential. From the first actions in the group, Zero-61 aimed at bending and exceeding the parameters of photography. Parallel to his media and conceptual activities, he passionately searched for the sacred. Hence his interest in the folklore and religiousness of the countryside, manifested in his collection of naive art, as well as in his works which he referred to from the 1990s as sacred photography, and later as Photosophy. These interests led him to explore memory, relations with ancestors and the past, as in the Nostalgic Photography series, or directly to the mystery of death, as in Photoandrzejosophy, in which he constructed a dialogue with his deceased friend Zofia Rydet. He argued that "creation is a sacred act" and, in fact, he strove to implement this idea. In June last year, he presented an exhibition that showed the multi-threaded nature of his activities, entitled Acquisitions. Between collecting and photosophy, presenting his monumental collection, film work, theoretical reflection and artistic activity. Andrzej Różycki went his own ways, disregarding the dominant artistic trends. He consciously used the medium of photography, the issues of Polish identity and religiosity, which remained beyond the main interests of the art world. Full of enthusiasm and energy, he planned further works, exhibitions and activities on the border of art, science and literature. He left behind a rich and varied legacy, the importance and importance of which will be revealed for a long time to come.
Karol Jóźwiak - art historian and culture expert, scientist associated with the University of Łódź, where he initiates the establishment of the Center for Photosophical Research and the acquisition by the university in the form of a deposit of Andrzej Różycki's achievements, which in the form of the Photosophical Archive would develop the trail of photosophical thought.
