ZbyZiel | Photography and Painting

Guided Tour and Themed Walk, concluding with the opening of Marek Szyryk’s exhibition On the Beauty of Life at the Museum of Photography in Bydgoszcz.

21.09.2024, 16:00

ZbyZiel’s Studio, Skorupki 1

The event will be held in Polish only.

Photography is a form of painting that, as a method of exploring and recording the world, has shaped human consciousness for at least thirty thousand years. The display of painting and photographic works in the Author’s studio will serve as an introduction to guiding participants through a part of the city that is a continuous source of inspiration and a frequent motif in his paintings and photographs. The walk will also provide an opportunity to discuss mindfulness exercises.

Event from the Photography and series – activities of 2B+L Gallery at the 10th Vintage Photo Festival 2024 in Bydgoszcz

Photography is a crucial element of social communication. In 1620, Francis Bacon recognized the invention of printing as one of the three groundbreaking discoveries in world history (alongside gunpowder and the compass). Józef Żuk Piwkowski claims that the invention of photography, and consequently film, television, and digital photography, is the fourth groundbreaking discovery of civilizational significance.

2B+L Gallery plans to present four perspectives on photography and invite them to discussion.
