The title of the exhibition was created on the basis of conversations about the photo sessions of Zofia Kiepuszewska at the turn of 1970 and 1971. After the death of her husband Jan Kiepuszewski in 1969, Zofia Kiepuszewska worked in a photo studio arranged at her home at the former Aleja 1 Maja, today's Gdańska 64 in Bydgoszcz. Then she photographs Joanna Kiepuszewska, her daughter-in-law. Both women had good contact with each other, which was actually intuitive. They got along without words, with their delicacy, sensuality and frequency of beauty. They listened to music during the sessions. Joanna was reading Marquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude at the time, selecting fragments of literature for Zofia's works. She was the protagonist of the entire series of 20 Photograms A Study of One Face by Zofia Kiepuszewska, one of the photographs was titled with her name, and on the back of another portrait was added: Joanna Kiepuszewska, historian.
Zofia Kiepuszewska (1914–1998) - born in Gdańsk, lived and worked in Bydgoszcz. A precursor, together with her husband Jan Kiepuszewski, in the field of artistic photography in Bydgoszcz in the first years after World War II. Member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers (ZPAF), decorated with the artistic title ofAFIAP of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP).Co-founder of the Bydgoszcz Photographic Society. Organizer of photocircles in schools and the army. Author of twenty individual exhibitions in Poland, as well as a participant of many collective and international exhibitions.
